If you've never been to Yamashiro, you definitely have to try it, it's an experience. The land and the architecture is just so beautiful, sitting on top of the Hollywood hill. Not only is there a restaurant on their land, but there's a hotel and a hookah bar that has event as well, along with a couple of other businesses. Onto the food - the food is pretty good. I would give it 8.5 out of 10. I've been suggested to stick to the sushi and seafood items so I have not tried the steaks and other things that they offer however, of course they specialize in sushi so that makes sense. Their sushi rolls are so good, especially the Yamashiro roll, which is the most expensive roll however, I think about it in my dreams. The pricing could be better, but let's be real. We're in Los Angeles and it's the ambience that youre really paying for. Things I've tried / yamashiro roll, Hamachi Kama, poke nachos, yellowtail Serrano, and two other rolls I cannot remember the name of. The Hamachi Kama is a must try. It's in a really great light sauce, definitely cannot go wrong with that as an appetizer. Also, one of my favorite things on the menu, poke nachos, however weirdly enough, they put the poke on tortilla chips, which I am not a fan of. So I highly suggest you asked for a side of wonton chips and move the poke onto the wonton chips. For some reason they will not, do it for you and serve it like that because of the sustainability of the tortilla chip however, I don't see the problem with putting it on a wonton chip. Either way they'll give you the chips for free and you move it onto yourself and it is one of the most delicious things on the menu. It's also big enough to split it with 2 to 3 people, but no more than that. Their drinks are amazing, they never miss!!! The bartenders will also make you specialty cocktails that are awesome and you you just have to ask and let them know what kind of flavors you're into. When you're there, make sure you visit the whole restaurant if they don't seat you in the garden definitely go take a look at the garden. You can also walk down the steps towards the hookah lounge where they have their Zen type of garden. I would also check out the hookah lounge if you're into that and sometimes they host comedy shows. For parking you have to valet, you don't really really have a choice as there's no parking because it's near a residential area in the valet is $20.

Upscale dining with amazing view! Loved their sushi boat, sashimi pizza, and steak frites. We were seated indoor but next time we come back, we would request for garden or rail seating for the views. Good vibe and customer service was good! Joey was friendly and attentive to our needs.
